Correspondence Course Instructions
Instructions for Taking a Course Outside the Regular School Program (Correspondence Course)
Students may choose to take courses through approved correspondence programs such as:
- Keystone National High School
- BYU Independent Study
- An accredited university
Please follow these steps:
- Meet with your school counselor
- Discuss your goals and course options.
- Pick up the required forms and the correspondence course contract.
- Return the completed contract
- Submit the form to your counselor for review.

- Wait for administrative approval
- Do not register for any course until you have received approval.

- After approval
- You may register for your selected course.

- Complete the course
- Finish all requirements according to the program's guidelines.

- Submit your final transcript
- Bring the official transcript to your counselor so you can be scheduled into the next level course if applicable.

Important Notes:
- Enrichment courses are permitted, but they will not appear on your transcript.
- Do not register for any course without first meeting with your counselor and receiving approval. Courses taken without a signed contract may not be accepted for acceleration.
